What does the system do ?

The system fulfils several roles:

• Identifies and measures compliance with the delivery of any number of non negotiable tasks that retail managers have to complete each week to be considered Professional Retailers in their outlet.
• Enables data on each of the top ten tasks to be shared across the organisation e.g. Area Manager knows every week that outlet managers have run the company promotions on time with all correct POS in place
• Provides a vehicle for area managers to log their outlet visits and record any actions from business reviews at each of their outlets. This information is then immediately available for senior management to view and monitor
• Enables all senior managers to track outlet, area manager and functions hitting pre-determined targets in the system (using red, amber, green reporting)
• Provides a vehicle for central functions to formally record instances where outlets are not following professional retailing principles and vice versa, outlets can identify where poor service from functions is being received.
• Provides a basis for performance management and if necessary disciplinary action if targets consistently not hit.
• Provides a simple and effective data capture method from outlet or any field based staff to head office.
• Communication vehicle for CEO or Operations Directors to send message to groups of users each week

Technically the system is very easy to use and appears as a web based application. It can be run either on a server within the organisation or it can be provided as a web hosted application. It was developed and is supported by a company called ntelligensia. It is very reliable and can be totally configured to suit the needs of any retail operation.

Each outlet manager will only spend between 5 and 10 minutes each week on the system recording the fact that they have completed their non-negotiable ten tasks for the week.
